Breast cancer is such a topic near and dear to my heart. Not because I have suffered from it, nor anyone in my family. But near and dear friends of mine have and still are. I have spent countless hours fundraising and donating to this specific cause. I have met many women who have faced this battle. They all handle it in different ways….things you think are important to you completely change.IMG_3916

At one event I met one woman who was dying. She was leaving two (young) children behind and she was in her 30’s. Listening to her…how much she loved God, how much she didn’t hate cancer…How she had to prepare her Dh to raise their children alone… say good -bye..and how she was ready to embrace eternal life.  A childhood friend of mine died a few years ago from Breast cancer. She was in stage 4 by the time she had been diagnosed and it had already spread so much..it was only a matter of time. She was in her early 30’s. Thinking about her short life and all how we went to grade school together seems impossible.  No real family history.  Any one of us are affected by this disease. So it has to be near to us in some fashion.IMG_3920 IMG_3921

Barb sent this quilt to me for loose quilting. It’s all flannel, comfy and she wants it to stay this way. She wants to gift it to her loved one who will use this for treatments. Can I just say how much I love my job? Again? I never get tired of praying and being a part of God’s work. God heals, he works, he comforts and he brings people together to help that mission become complete. I only have  a small part….that’s perfect for me. It’s an honor to have that tiny piece. So I send this out with a lovely prayer of healing….This scripture comes to mind:

“I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.” (Psalm 40:1-3)

I am in love with Psalms…I also love Corinthians and Romans. ( but I am always in love with what I am currently reading ..hehe)

I quilted all over ribbons..a very loose design….but also goes with the theme of pink ribbons. IMG_3919 IMG_3918 IMG_3917

Thanks Barb for letting me be a part of your quilt. Many blessings.
I hope this offers her comfort during this time. Bless you for offering up comfort.
