IMG_4447Isn’t Texas the actual “LoneSTAR” state? Funny right?IMG_4455

Donna sent me a few quilts for an upcoming show…I quilted one for her last year that took first place….I have the newspaper article and everything to prove it! What a special quilt…it’s listed here , The quilt titled “Safe from the Storm”IMG_4458

One I will always remember. Even this time around she said she wishes these quilts had the spiritual connection..but I have to admit she is such a  great piecer and these quilts are truly beautiful. IMG_4457 IMG_4456

This first one is the lone star..I have quilted several of  these…feathers always compliment them well..I have used feathers in the star points and also to fill in..several different ways.  I chose to use continuous curves in the star points, some feather wreaths, and Charisma Curl fill in. If anyone is thinking they would like to make a lonestar..Donna made her exactly the same way I would..it makes it easy and PERFECT points. She used Quiltsmart…it’s a light weight foundation pattern. Listed here.

They have several different patterns…so you can take a look. :)

This is her second quilt…it’s still on the frame so you just get a Sneek Peak:IMG_4446 IMG_4445 IMG_4444 IMG_4443

It’s called “Amish with a Twist” I think it should be a winner…but that’s just my opinion. LOL
