Mary and I have worked together several times. She is a very sweet lady…I am blessed to work with her.

She made a cross quilt :

Mary made this quilt for her sister as a birthday gift. I {of course} think this is a beautiful gift…quilt..message…all of the above.

This is what she wrote about her quilt:

” I made the cross squares all dark because to me it represents the darkness of men’s hearts that would crusify our Lord.  I sprinkled amber and lighter brown squares in with the darker squares around the cross to represent God’s light shining through representing hope and the fade to white square in the lower to represent purity.  Hope this all makes sense.”

As many of you know who have seen this quilt before { I have quilted several since debuting mine} ….the straight lines in the quilt represent the lashes Jesus took for us. There are verses quiltied within the quilt to represent the truth intertwined amung us. It’s actually hard to see the colors of the batik squares in these pictures..they are rich and beautiful with gold undertones as Mary speaks of..very beautiful!

I have a tutorial listed for this quilt..it goes together very quickly and easy.
