Love the Log Cabin
This is a quilt pattern from Eleanor Burns booked called “ Still Stripping after 25 years “
It’s called “Love the Log cabin”
I made it at a retreat ..YEARS ago. I think Clarissa was 2. so it’s about 6-7 years old. I was dissappointed in the sashing fabric I had picked out at the time…I had originally made it for Clarissa…Her first “Big girl” room was painted white and pink..canopy bed with small little roses. I remember when I had bought everything ..Rob said …Charisma Are you sure we should be putting this much white in a little girls room? Her bed spread was white with little embroidered roses..it was really precious..like my dream room..shabby chic and so ruffly. I said : Yes! We should..it’s beautiful.
And it really was beautiful…but just like everything she out grew it..now her room has hot pink and green..which is cute too…but honestly I LOVE shabby chic. But it was a lot of up keep for me as well..trying to keep everything white and nice looking.
Anyway..this is no longer appealing to her room…and I am sure it will find the perfect home…I am making a vow to never take this long on projects again..after I get all of these done! LOL Famous last words right?
I had this justification..if the top was done..it wasn’t a UFO….well now that I am a long arm quilter…yes it is.
So yeah…I love even more now ..that it’s done!
I wonder how you made the curved edges on those hearts?? (LOVE how you quilted each of them!!)
Hi K,
Oh I made the log cabin blocks, then appliqued the half circle on the top to make the heart shape.Pretty cute huh?
Thanks!
