Hi Everybody!

I am here to inform you of a mistake that was made on the FABULOUS pattern. A shop owner that was working ahead notified us that there is a mistake on the yardage requirements on the black/charcoal hashdot for month 4. There is a shortage of 1/2 a yard.

THERE IS GOOD NEWS!

YAHOO!!! We have enough fabric included in your original kits with a few minor adjustments.

We are able to squeeze enough black from the original kit requirements to make it all work. So nobody has to buy more yardage. Whether you bought a kit from me or any other shop.  We are using every scrap from the other months and extra binding fabric (and adjusting our binding strip size to 2.25 instead of 2.5)  to use every bit of black that we have in our original kits.

Due to the nature of BOM’s we automatically include extra fabric to accommodate monthly kitting verses regular kitting. THANK GOODNESS!

I have attached a PDF ….for anyone to download. This has cutting diagrams to make use of all of the extra black in the kit. It also has the pages that you will need to replace to correct your pattern. So please read this over, ask any questions and please share with your participating shops or friends. The worst thing that will happen if you don’t get this PDF in time is that you will have to make a really scrappy black binding. Or you may want to buy extra binding ..or you could make a scrappy binding with the leftover colored fabrics.

Honestly, I am incredibly sorry for this error. We made the quilt twice, 3 of us checked the blocks, construction and tutorials. I have a tech editor and we all missed this. We made the best effort. Mistakes happen. It’s never our intention. I am thankful it was caught so early in the process so we can try and get this information out to everyone to preserve the fabrics that we have all sent out. I hope you will understand and work with us to continue to make this a positive experience for all of us.

Do kits purchased after this error was discovered include the extra 1/2 yard of black to correct the error?

Thank you for the cutting corrections.

There is another place in month 4 that I believe is an error…you really only need 4 strips @ 4-7/8” x wof to sub cut the 32 squares for both the black and the white for month 4.

With the saving of the 5th strip as indicated in the directions you should not have any shortages.

This is my first BOM and I am participating through my favorite fabric and quilt store, My Fabric Friends in Victoria, TX. I have really only been quilting for 2 years and this is also my first medallion quilt.

It is totally out of my comfort zone and not anything like my prior quilts. I intend to surprise my husband with it for Christmas this year.

Thank you for your beautiful pattern.
