Hi Friends,

Today was a productive day and guess what ……it snowed. How beautiful is the snow? So beautiful to me…I totally know this is one of those “In the eye of the beholder” type things…but it really was clean and pure looking outside..which i love.

I also met a QB member who dropped off a quilt…she had to go to a few surrounding towns so she stopped by…and I always love meeting new people.

On my UFO list that I made yesterday I forgot to add a few unfinished table runners…so instead of adding them to the list to mark them off..I just finished them. They aren’t really all that cute…cause I don’t think it was good fabrics…and they had to be finished by the “Birthing Method”  which is kind of unusual for me these days…and under normal circumstances I may have continued to just put them away for another day…but why? I may as well get it done. They aren’t the best but not the worse I have ever made..so there ya go.  I also completed most of my OBW ( One Block Wonder) blocks…and searched through my stash to find fabrics to make cubes. I did actually find cube fabrics and I will be working on those tomorrow. Hoping that I can get some more headway on that quilt tomorrow. But tomorrow is also my quilt meeting…..which I am hosting. I am making a new recipe that I got from the net a couple weeks ago. It’s so quick and yummy.  I have made a few changes.

Chicken Enchilada Casserole

6 chicken breasts diced and sauteed with onions

When chicken is cooked all the way through add two small cans of green chilis and a can of sliced olives along with a big can of Cream of chicken soup.

Meanwhile in a large casserole dish lay down crushed tortilla chips ( I save the crumbs from the bottom of our tortilla chip bags)

Then layer the chicken mixture on top of the crushed chips then a layer of cheddar cheese and continue layering until mix is gone..end with a layer of cheese.

Cook on 350 until cheese is melted and casserole is bubbly on the edges.

The family loves this and it is really easy to make.

I also finished the civil war quilt today…which is always a good feeling….finishing a quilt. :) ( pics tomorrow)

Rob also found out some bad news today ( or good depending on how you look at it) he has to have another surgery. He has a torn rotator cuff…and it is killing him. He is in constant pain, isn’t sleeping well ect. all weekend he was kind of grumpy and we all just stay away from him. Between constant pain and lack of sleep he is a bear. On Sunday he was barking at me before church and I just had to walk away…during church he grabbed my hand ( that was his apology…without having to say it..I accepted without saying it) and I knew he was just in pain and not wanting to be mean. So on one hand I am happy he will get relief…but they say it will get worse before it gets better. If the surgery goes well he should be out of work for 4-5 weeks…if not it will be longer. This makes him a bit worried about his work. He is the boss of his dept. and preparing for harvest is detailed and lots of work. So he wants to make sure they will be getting it done without him. He may have to go in once a week to see their progress because it’s going to give him anxiety not knowing.  I will have anxiety because I just hate him having to go through another surgery. His body is falling apart.

But I know that God is providing all of this and he needs it so I will trust and let the anxiety go. It’s not in my control.

So on another note cause I keep hopping around…I also sorted out the Halloween UFO and decided my plan of action. There was no pattern or plan it was a bunch of yardage and scraps….mixed with a cut up panel. So I am just going to wing it and do some free form improv piecing and see where it leads me….it will be fun and colorful..great combo!

Well I better get ready ….my favorite shows are on tonight. I hope you all have a fabulous night!

My husband had a torn rotator cuff as well. The recover is hard – doing all the physical therapy is very very important. As long as your husband does the PT he will be sooooooo happy once the recover is done. Just be sure to set reasonable expectations. Going back to work in 4-5 weeks does not mean fully recovered. That can take several months. But the PT and time it takes will be well worth it.
