Hi Everybody!

Today I am featuring my Peas and Corn Quilt.

There is a company called Poppie Cotton Fabrics

They design very sweet lines of fabric and I am always excited to use their lines. When I saw this line called “My Heart Belongs to a Farmer”

I just had to design something. I live in a farming community. My husband is not a farmer but he has supported our family for many years working in the industry. I have been a harvest widow for many-many years. Our lives have been subjected to harvest more times than I can count. It has been a good life but we are now finished with it. My husband has decided to leave this specific industry and he is going on to a 8-5 job so we can have a regular schedule. He starts his new job this week.

However…there is no way that we can NOT honor the fields, farmers and people in the life we have lived. All of our lives are dependent upon this community and their hard work. This industry is no joke and it takes a certain type of person who is willing to sacrifice so much of themselves. It’s a calling. A way of life.

The quilt I made for this line of fabric is called Peas & Corn because those are the 2 crops that have supported my family.

Peas and Corn uses a fat quarter bundle and some background. ( plus binding and a smaller cut of red). I have kits available, HERE.

I also have Fat quarter bundles available, HERE.

If you’d just like the pattern you cab find that HERE and HERE.

I feel so thankful that I have been able to live in this community for almost half of my life. I have lived here longer than I have lived anywhere else in my life. I had to think about that for a moment. But it is true. I wanted to raise my children in such a way that they were stable, had a comfortable home and they went to the same schools ect. I was able to accomplish that and now my youngest has gone to college and we are ready for our next chapter of life. Wherever we land I know we will make the best of it. But I will be so thankful for the peas and corn, the small community and the people we have met along the way.

I hope you will thank your local farmers by supporting them and their families.

My Heart Belongs to a Farmer should be available in your local quilt shops as well.

:)

Be Blessed
