Well you have all seen this quilt several times now..I can’t say that I ever tire of it..I am actually overjoyed to quilt it so many times because it’s is a constant reminder of the greatest gift I have ever recieved in my life….I am always so thankful that there are so many belivers out there…..when I first posted it so many people said it shouldn’t be reproduced….and many times people ask me if I mind quilting it again for their own…I am always flattered by that….I kind of have the same philosphy for everything …

One is that God shares everything with us..so of course I am willing to share my gift..It was divine inspiration that I quilted the original cross quilt in that manner.

I am that way with everything..so many times people write to ask me info or my philosphy for business and/or quilting.  Most of the time they tell me”I am not looking to take business from you”….or something along those lines….as if I would be insulted and not want to share my info. It always kind of makes me chuckle.

A think a few things about that…

One: I am always sad that there are probably others who aren’t willing to share so people get gun shy to ask ….which makes it hard for others. Trust me when I say that I am not in fear of those types of things. I am always willing to help people along the way for whatever reason. One reason  is my trust doesn’t lie (sp?)  in my fellow man/Women. My trust is in God..he has more investment in my business than I do..he has been in control the whole time…he had faith in me when I didn’t have faith in him…sad to admit but true..I doubted myself and I doubted how he could trust me so much with so many things/people in my life…this business of quilting has made me grow exponentially in my faith…both in God, people and myself. He is ever so faithful to me..I am eternally grateful!

Second..there is so much business to go around that I couldn’t possibly HAVE it all if I did want it all..and trust me..I can’t handle it all…..and as much as I love quilting and all the people I work with, I love my family as well. I need to invest in them as much as everything thing else…and my God! I need to make time for him .. I can’t love quilting more than those two things.

Third:  We each have our own unique style. I don’t mind when people I work for, send a quilt to someone else….Hey we all need to shop around..if we are on a budget or whatever. If you have a specific feeling or image in your mind of what you want a quilt to look like and that style is completely different from mine..than by all means..please give the work to someone you feel will be able to complete the task in the manner in which you feel is best. There have been several times when I get a quilt sent witha  picture of what they want it to look like..adn it was quilted by a computer..well clearly..I can’t quilt it like that..so I give them the name of someone who does have a computer.  So in short I apprecaite other quilters just as much….I have been known to send a few of mine out as well…I can’t see what some one else can see sometimes..and I like to have a bit of their influence in my house and on my quilt as well. In the end we all need to be happy.

So in short ..you attract more flies with honey than vinegar ..right?

I got off on a bit of trail there…but I Just wanted to share that because I type it out so often..and there are many other quilters out there with the same philosphy…Here are two gals right here..I don’t know them personally..I just read their blogs …and I think they are secure within themselves and faiths that they are also sharing their works, talents, and techniques pretty freely….I adore them for that!

Angela and Judi.

This Cross quilt was made from a Crochet pattern that was listed on this blog…just scroll to the bottom of the page for the picture/graph. I had no idea where the graph came from when I originally made my quilt….listed here: Cross . So I contacted Red Rose immediatly and told her what I had done..I was just praying she wouldn’t be upset..but she LOVED the quilt. I then told her she should make a quilting pattern because the quilt would be popular…she said she didn’t know the first thing about quilting…oh no! LOL

So I have no idea how many are out there now…but I always pray that they will be a form of witness…because I quilted this way for a specific reasons…

Joyce added a few meanings for her own quilt…

Red for the blood Jesus Shed for us, Purple for the garments he wore..and in the wooden cross each fabric square is a different print as to represent there is only ONE Jesus.

Beautiful!

Can anyone guess which scripture always makes it into this quilt….whether I have picked the scripture..or I get the list of included scriptures from the quilt owner..there is always one that is quilted in….??
