Hi Everybody! I am so excited! The WA edition of Quiltfolk is out today (I haven’t gotten to see it yet…I am waiting impatiently). But I was included in this issue. What an HONOR!!

If you don’t have Quiltfolk and want to get this single issue or get the subscription you can use this code for a discount.

Just go to this site HERE.

Quiltfolk is a beautiful bookazine. There are no advertisements, and the photography and stories are amazing. This is what the cover of the WA issue looks like:

Most people associate WA with the west side of the state. There is the ocean, lots of rain and the big city. I spent 20+ years of my life in the center part of WA where no trees grow without human help and it’s all desert with snakes and scorpions. It’s brown.  I currently live in the eastern part of WA (close to the Idaho border >>The panhandle) and it’s beautiful here. There are 4 seasons, the leaves change colors in the fall because there are lots of different trees here and green in the proper seasons. Plus we get ALOT of snow in the winter.

There are quilters from all over the state featured in this edition and I can’t wait to read all about them.

The day the photographers came for the shoot I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Azuree and Trevor are a husband and wife team and they are so AMAZING! They are artists in their own right (they dabble in lots of things…like the rest of us) and I loved watching them work and seeing what caught their eye and how they styled shots. I have a whole folder with more than 300 images that they took and I still don’t know which photos made the final cut. But I kind of teared up looking at all of the photos because they had done such a nice job. They captured so many things that I could have or may have overlooked. The images I couldn’t see myself, the things that I might take for granted.  But also just having images if myself. I rarely get a decent picture of myself, honestly. I rarely take pictures with my husband and to have the chickens and dogs included is like gold. The story of our life right now. I am pretty sure none of them know how meaningful all of this is too me. They were/are just doing their job. But it really is special to me in so many ways.  To see the beauty they captured in my everyday is priceless.

These are some of my favorite quilts. I didn’t design them. I made most of them. They are just a part of my collection. This photo is so beautiful.

I have a few photos of me working on this sketch. I think this is super special because this is the sketch that I am drawing for my 4th line of fabric. They happened to come for the photo shoot while I was in the process of that. It’s one of the shots that you might see about a famous artist …and here I am in that kind of picture? what?!!

The Live boldly Quilt hangs on my wall all the time because I take the original to shows with me. I still have some of the special notes pinned on it from the open house. I like having the reminder of that special day. But you can also see My Little Pink Egg Carton for Timeless Treasures in the little chicken planter. I know all of the special things in this picture and they are all there because this is where i film tutorials and I like surrounding myself with those special things.

It’s rare that my husband and I have a decent picture together. This is one that they took and I love it. Our little farmhouse ( it might kill us), a quilt and each other. Since this photo was taken the farmhouse has been painted, shutters have been added, new lights etc. so much changes so fast around here.

I just wanted to share some of the beauty that has been captured by Quiltfolk and their staff. I am so honored. I am touched and I have momentos to take with me forever as it’s all documented in so many photos. Priceless. I hope you all will show them some love. You can also get a free pattern on their website by joining their newsletter. :)
