Soft Petals

Jan brought this quilt to me…. STUNNING!

It was a BOM put out by Lecien with this line of fabric! WOWZERS!

I love all the soft colors and the pop of gray’s that just calm it all down but also pops out a bit to accentuate all the right things. She brought me the pictures so I could see how it was quilted. It was quilted beautifully…but I felt there wasn’t enough variety…and I rarely want to copy quilting ( I said rarely…because sometimes I do) …but somehow I prefer to interpret myself and put my style with it.

So I decided to echo the appliques…and use “muscle shells” as a filler in the background areas….fans under the scallops…and  leaves in the background patchwork..after all it’s a garden theme. This was easy on the eyes the whole time…loved the process….loved seeing it come to life as I worked on it.
