Pixelated Heart
As soon as I saw this I knew I needed to make it. I pinned it on my pinterest board ( I am pretty sure?)
It came from this blog, Blue Elephant Stitches. She is also the one who introduced us to the Granny squares. You can find the tutorial on her blog for those.:) I love her projects and use of fabrics.
It’s simple ..but more than that I have been trying to use my scraps and sort out my stash. I have a scrap system…(kind of) and part of that system is cutting 5 inch charms. Then I put them in one of my drawers. So I have been trying to hit those scraps because they fill faster than you know it….I have emptied my 2.5 inch square drawer. I did empty the 2.5 strip drawer earlier in the year with my two Scrappy vomits….but it’s full again. :) But I really need to focus on my fat quarter drawers..they are bursting. I really don’t use fat quarters that much…so I quit buying them. but I keep finding more and more in my stash. Anyway..getting back to my heart……I just used scraps…and focused on pinks/reds in the heart. Background got anything that wouldn’t compete with the heart. Even though this is a fast easy project, I just love it! I think it’s so pretty.
I quilted Charisma Curls in the background and feathers in the heart. I will most likely make this again…in different colors and quilting designs.
