Long Time Gone 2
I have to admit that I have a current obsession…..Jen Kingwell designs. Seriously…..I want to spend a month in Australia just hanging out with fabulous quilters. There is a huge population of quilters there…they have this cool style –vibe==energy…I don’t know what you call it. But I am completely attracted to it. I had a certain obsession with Material Obsession ( 1 & 2) when those books came out,,,,all of the lollipop trees…and everything in between. I met Jen at market several years ago when she only had a handful of patterns…it was my favorite booth. None of my locals liked them…***sigh** I was always ahead of the game when it came to my local shop…always.
Well a few months ago I made my first long time gone quilt…and I knew immediately that I wanted to make another. I just really enjoyed the process of making this quilt because it uses scraps….so there is no thinking involved. But also because I just focus on one page at a time and before I know it a quilt is done. It’s not a huge quilt…but I definitely feel like I have accomplished something when it’s finished.
When I made my first one my friend Beth said that she liked it so much..that if I wanted to make another one I could make one for her…so I did.
I gifted this to her…and she loves it.
I also used scraps for the back:
So I am so glad I have lots of scraps..good friends and fabulous designs to make. I quilted it with an all over design on my computer.
Thanks Beth! I love you dearly!

Love, love, love this quilt!!! I have two of of her patterns, but have yet to make them. BTW, we survived the Camino! What a unique experience! I survived with just one blister. Ready to do another trek! Off to AZ for the winter, will have some quilts for you when we get home in April.
