Layer Cake Fun

So I wanted a quick easy project that I could get done in a weekend.

Not for any other reason than I needed to feel “accomplished.” I felt like I hadn’t completed anything in awhile and I just needed to have a finish. I had a layer cake and it was burning a hole in my pocket. LOL I thought I found the pattern on Fat quarter shop…it’s  a free pattern. I can’t remember. But all it is taking a 5 inch square and marking it on the diagonal and putting it in the corner of each layer cake square. I just chose a bunch of yellow & gold scraps from my stash because it wasn’t a color that was used in the layer cake.

It is just a nice lap size quilt…but it was quick and easy to put together. The colors are nice and the patterns are sweet.

I put flannel scraps on the back to make it extra cozy. It finished up nicely with a quilting design from the computer. I chose some sweet daisies to finish it off.

I hope you all feel a little “accomplished” today. I love that feeling….I thrive off of it!

Blessings for today!
