Heart Bargello
This is a famous quilt around these parts. We had a local designer that loved Bargellos and she came up with this pattern. I have seen it in every color way imaginable. The local hospital had a quilt group for the seniors and this was a featured pattern while I worked at the hospital…so they had a quilt show when everyone was finished and the whole room was filled with several different color ways of this quilt, I have made one myself in my own quilt group..when several of us got together to make one. I gifted mine ….it was years ago before I started quilting full-time. I have also quilted several.
This one was started by a gal in the very same quilt weekend I made mine. She still hasn’t finished it and I want to say that was like 6-7 years ago. She bought one of the original kits when the pattern was first released so it looks just like the original featured in the pattern. Sadly the gal is battling breast cancer right now. It’s her 30th wedding anniversary in a few weeks. My Dear friend Donna decided to get it from her and finish it for her anniversary. Of course I donated quilting..and I even put their names and wedding date in the quilting. The LQS donated batting and another friend bought the backing. It’s a beautiful quilt and I know the owner will love it. I hope it offers her comfort during this tough time.
The same designer made this pattern as well. Jakes’s wave bargello.
I bought it years ago. I have only seen it in two color ways…blue and yellow and purple and yellow. I just shopped in my stash to make this and wanted it to be completely different…cause that’s the way I am. Here are all of my panels. As you can see my “pop” of color is going to be red. All of this has been sitting in a basket for years waiting for me to get it together…sad right? Here’s the other goofy thing I did..I cut double what I was supposed to. So I will have two of these quilts. UGH! I hope it’s pretty when I am done. LOL
I don’t think my LQS still carries these patterns. but you can probably do an on-line search.
Charisma, you did a beautiful job…as usual. Thank you so much. I’m sure they will treasure it! Thanks again. Love you!!! See you today for lunch!!!!!!!!
