Draw Near ~Wool Penny Cross
I have been toting this little wool penny project around all year long. I started it in February 2019. Typically, it doesn’t take me that long to finish a wool penny project but this became my “Teaching” piece.
I used it to teach stitches to several of my classes and people along the way. It wasn’t the plan. But isn’t that how it always works?
It is not lost on me that the perfect piece to use as a teaching tool is my Cross. It was supposed to be #10 in my series of wool penny patterns. It was bypassed. I just couldn’t figure out how I wanted to finish it. It seemed like it was always going to be incomplete and imperfect. Then I decided that is how it was going to stay.
Sometimes things just don’t go according to plan, right? Sometimes, we can’t predict or control everything or anything. I am never in control no matter what my mind thinks.
I am always incomplete and unfinished. I am always learning and teaching. There are lessons that have to be repeated. This piece doesn’t have as many variety of stitches and stitch combinations as most of my pieces because I was teaching the same sets of stitches in my classes. Sometimes in my life, I have to learn a lesson a few times before I truly understand.
I couldn’t even think of a name or label. That’s not unusual for me. Sometimes naming quilts is difficult for me. I also felt like I just needed to offer this up because God has given so much to me. The cross is a symbol of that. Promises he made & delivered. He Promised a Savior to us and Christmas is just around the corner to remind me of that. So this is a free pattern. Please share your work with me. I love to see them! If you download this PDF Please don’t share it directly with your friends. Please refer your friend to my site to download. There are a few reasons for this. But I am a small business and I am offering this as a Thank you. I would appreciate the visits. :)
You can Download the PDF below. I would also just like the share a verse John 3:16
A prayer for my offering:
Lord, I pray that we all draw near to you during this time. I pray that we feel your presence. I thank you and praise you for all that you have done for me and what you will do for me. I am truly thankful for your gift to us. You fulfilled your promise to us. I pray that I fulfill my promises to you God. Please give us peace and comfort. I ask that my offering is used for good. I ask all of this in Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Blessing to all of you!
