Cubed Stars and a Warm Sampler
Florence made these fabulous Scrappy quilts for me….so it is my turn to quilt for her.
She kind of stumped me on these cubed stars….I have to say ..mostly I tend to over think things ( don’t ever tell Rob I said that) and I kept taking it out…putting it back…taking it out..putting it back. It looks Amish to me…solid fabrics, simple design and that is what needed to shine. It looks like a quilt that was made for hand quilting to me…so the design needed to reflect that…in my opinion anyway. So I kept going back and forth as to what to quilt…and decided on the Baptist fans because those are so traditional. God knows I could never take up hand quilting…that would take me a couple decades to finish.
Florence is a fabulous piecer…and It finished up beautifully.
This next quilt is a sampler which I am always happy to quilt….Her color/fabric choices are really warm and soft…and I wanted the quilting to kind of blend in as well. It’s difficult to see in the photos but one of the fabrics has several designs that look similar to Charisma Curls….so I quilted those on the blocks. I also quilted Leaves, Feather and Continuous Curves.
Also a beautifully constructed quilt!
Thanks Florence..always a pleasure!
Thank you Charisma. You did a beautiful job and your choices were perfect. I can’t wait to get them.
