Just Checking In..
Hi Y’All,
I just wanted to check in. Things are kind of crazy for me. Rob is back to working 7 days a week ..long hours. I am officially a harvest widow right now. There is a good and bad side to that. The paychecks get a little better but the mood and body breaks down a little further.
We have a few goals that we are trying to meet so it will all be worth it, hopefully.
I am feverishly working to get a bunch of samples made. I sent off all of my magazine work for this month…I think this about so many of my projects…but I honestly can’t wait to show you the projects that I did this month. They are so pretty! A few of them were Valentine themed projects …so next we will be working on Easter and Spring type projects. I feel like we were just there?
I am also working on a bunch of pattern samples. I have 3 almost ready for pictures. So I will be doing that in the next few days. It’s crazy how fast things are moving right now. I have several irons in the fire…just trying to keep up with my life. While at home….cause we still aren’t allowed to do anything other than grocery shop.
I think the stress of everything is getting to my family. There is only 3 of us here, thank goodness. Cause I cant imagine how life would be right now if all 8 of us were still home during all of this. My prayers to the parents with a lot of children at home still. But my family thinks I am snappy lately. I don’t feel like I am snappy….but it’s probably just the “everything” and stress of our current situation in the country right now.
So I am spending a lot of time in the studio because it’s an escape zone.
I am waiting for the fabric to arrive for this quilt sample….but the pattern is listed in my shop:
This is called Potluck. How cute is that?
I am using a line by Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs called Prim. It’s such a cute line I can’t wait for it to arrive.
So I will post lots of pictures of the actual samples as I get them complete.
My daughter and I take a weekly pottery class (well we did until covid) and we have all sorts of dishes and platters ect. I am always playing with different glazes and seeing what I can do to create designs. I know there are several pyrex collectors, potters, dish collectors, cooks and and let’s face it…Who doesn’t love a good potluck? there has only been one potluck in our life that my family complained about. LOL I was fine. But it happened to be a church that was primarily vegan/vegetarian/kosher. My family complained. *eyeroll* they couldn’t try different things ….boys. I have been to foreign countries when they waste no part of an animal and I had to struggle to get through eating that….and they complain about a little tofu? I would rather than the weird parts of an animal that nobody should consider eating…Just sayin.
I will have a few more pictures to share soon.
I hope you all have a wonderful day!
XOXO

Have a good happy day, Smile and giggle about everything and nothing

I agree with you totally on the eating. This Potluck pattern is wonderful. I know lots of collectors who would like this! How fun!
