Hi Everyone!

A New Year is upon us and I am so excited about the positive connections that I will make in the new year. I know some of you are new here and others are long time followers. Before I was a designer I would play in my stash all of the time and scrap quilts were my most favorite thing to sew. There is something so freeing about digging in and just playing with the scraps with no pressure. It’s that time of year that the weather is cold and gray. Sewing is the way to keep busy inside and stay warm…right?

I thought it would be fun to dig into our scraps and sew a quilt! I have never hosted a mystery quilt and I thought it would be a fun way to finish out the winter season. I designed Positive Connections. It uses smaller scraps and a background. it’s more of a controlled scrappy. As a homesteader and quilter there are some cross over philosophies. Recycle, repurpose and reuse. Taking those scraps and using them to make something out of leftovers is very satisfying.

All you have to do is sign up for my newsletter, HERE.

The weekly print outs will be in my weekly newsletter every Wednesday.

The videos will drop on my YouTube channel every Saturday starting Feb. 15th. You can find my channel HERE.

You will need 4 yards of background. if you want one background that is perfectly fine. But this would look great in a bunch of different low volume prints. A mix of tone on tone or a small print. Black will look awesome as well.

The largest cut from the scraps is 3.5 inches.

I say throw everything in as far as colors and prints. The more the better. you don’t really need to pay attention to the tone or shade of color. Mix in pastels, muddy and brights. All kinds of textures and patterns.

This will be really easy to keep up on with the weekly assignments.

I am putting the binding on and filming the reveal video tonight! yahoo! I wish I had time to make another version because I think this is going to look so great in other color options.

You can also join my facebook Sew along group, HERE. To share photos. :)
