This is Olaf a January Gnome. He is part of a Monthly Mini Series. He can stand alone or you can collect all 12 as they are each released. He is surrounded by embroidered snowflakes and paper pieced trees in his corners. He Has a cotton background and borders and he is made from wool. This is a paper pattern for my quilt called The Hive. This is a really cute pattern with colorful hives. You could also collect several gold and yellow fabrics to make it look like a more traditional Hive quilt. :) There is a traditinal piecing and a little foundation piecing for the the Bee Wings. I used a line called Geo Pop designed by Christa Watson for Benartex Fabrics for my cover quilt.
