Vintage Memories

058 059I started Pottery class a few years ago now…it doesn’t seem like it was that long ago…but it has been that long. I could go on and on about pottery class because I just love it for so many reasons. But I really love the people. I have met such lovely people and I have learned so much. It’s really a bright spot in my week.

Jackie is one of these people..she is so sweet and she is a true artist. She dabbles in art of many forms as well. She likes to cross stitch. She doesn’t typically follow patterns…..she is that good!! But I asked her if she would be willing to trade some quilting for her cross stitch abilities. she said yes…thank Goodness!  So she is finishing up some of my grandma’s cross stitcheries for me …I am not a cross stitcher and I just can’t do it. so these first two quilts are quilts made by her grandma using old clothes. hey have been sitting unfinished for many years . I find it a beautiful thing that we are trading “skills” to finish our grandmother’s projects. Isn’t that AWESOME?

This quilt is for her brother…so nothing to girly to be quilted.

060This next one is for her:

061So I quilted leaves, a flower in the center and stippled in the background.

062I think I got the best part of this deal. 🙂

Thanks a bunch!

I hope you all have a blessed day!
