Martha Sent this tablecloth to me. I think she told me it was her Mothers. I think she had seen one of mine while she was here dropping off some quilts and told me she had one she may want quilted.

So when I opened this I was so excited!

It’s so pretty. There was plenty of open space to showcase those fabulous feathers and give some movement.

It was so difficult trying to get photos because it was so gray here and I wouldn’t dare put it on the floor because of pet hair. So It’s outside or trying to hang it somewhere.

So I added swirls in the center. Feathers then Around all of the elements of the printed cloth I pebbled. Then in the outer border I added piano keys. All of the swirly and linear designs just give it such a great finish.

Good news is that Martha loves it.  So if you have a tablecloth that means something to you…or you come across them at yard sales ect. Think about picking them up and making a quilt. It’s a good way to preserve them. I think the quilting adds an element of life as well. Art upon Art.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Charisma, I bought a couple of linen hand-embroidered tablecloths a couple of years when I was in Cuba. I had planned to cut them up for a quilt, but I can’t bring myself to cut into them! Are you still doing custom quilting? I would love to have you work your magic with at least of mine!
One is 56×84, the other 56×59. There would be no rush to have them finished. Thanks for thinking about it!
