Vintage Christmas

Debbie is gifting quilts to her children this year…I am pretty sure cause the last one I quilted for her was for her daughter, HERE, IMG_3779

This one is for her son…who likes all things vintage. The panels are a progression of Christmas scenes with dates…SO Cute!IMG_3780IMG_3781IMG_3782 IMG_3783 IMG_3784

In keeping the vintage theme ~Baptist fans were the way to go. BF are so traditional in hand and machine quilting. They really compliment any quilting design …which is probably why they were used so frequently in vintage days. 🙂IMG_3786 IMG_3785 IMG_3784

I also read somewhere that a feather quilting motif can’t really be dated because the earliest documented quilts have feathers…interesting that some designs are just in woven into the very essence of quilting. Timeless! I know there are a few people who don’t like feathers…but most of us love them. So versatile and lovely. SO I complimented the border sways with feather plumes. IMG_3787

Merry Christmas! Thanks Debbie!
