UFO List ~Going into 2016

The last time I posted this is what was on the list:

Here is the last one I found:

1. Unquilted quilt tops – This is never ending…..I just don’t quilt my own in a timely manner. When I have down time I like piecing..it breaks up the monotony of “work”

2. crazy quilt-  **this will require hand work…..and that always takes me longer.

3. Dear Jane *making progress on this*…I was making progress on this…Now I am stalled.

4. colorful trees- I may ditch this project because it may never come together.

5.Embroidery projects I started years ago. I am not in love with these projects…but like I said..I want to finish everything I start. ** I am actually making progress on these and hideous as they are.

6. Autumn wool BOM- I have done nothing with this project

7. Perkiomen Daydreams- Blocks are finished…I just need to put it together. They have been finished for like 2 years…I am going to make this a priority.

8. Whack-a-Doodle Lane- All of my houses & trees are done…all 365. I just need to sew a few of the bog blocks and set them. This will take awhile.

9. Beth’s Birdie Love Quilt

10. Bird Dance

11. Quote Quilt

12. Wool Penny Projects

13. Rainbow Garden

14. Wild & Goosey #2

15. Disappearing 4 patch.

16. paper pieced stars…I started from scraps and never finished.

17. Bliss stars

All of those are started and in progress. Sad as that is. 🙂 I need to get a few finished so I can feel good about starting different projects.

Some things I want to start:

  1. Farmers wife
  2. pineapple quit
  3. spider web quilt
  4. majestic mountains with an inspirational panel

It’s just crazy how many projects I have in progress and how I dream of new projects on a regular basis.

But I tend to make some progress when I write them down and tackle them. Even in the last few weeks I have finished quite a few on my cutting table just because it was getting over whelming thinking about them. Once my cutting table gets crowded …I actually get some finished because it seems crazy to put them in a storage container…I can easily for get about them. So I am making myself finish a few. One of them actually only took me an hour to finish…it had literally been on the cutting table for 8 months (or more) and I just had to invest one hour of time? It’s crazy how I neglect things like that…..I am famous for getting to borders..and then putting a project down…I hate borders.

Where do you get hung up?

I will have to share some pics of some latest finished quilt tops…..I will do that soon. I hope you all go into the new year with a resolve to finish the old ….& start new projects. 🙂 It feels good.

  1. Oh Charisma one day or I should say daysi found tons of UFO s in my sewing room- quilts, cross-stitch etc and was overwhelmed! I sorted them into ” want to finish” and “never in a million years” so I donated the latter and felt better remembering that I enjoyed the process at the time. Lol

  2. Hmmmm, I should do
that too…get some of my UFO s done….I should make a list as well, just to see what I have…you seem to be doing good….

  3. Dear one , I too have some to get done this year. Friends said going to get married end of year ok quilt to do .Then was told oh we got married two weeks ago, now made rush to get it done. another couple to we’d in Oct. so now to kick it up a gear. 2 cut out and on the table and mom wants one done with Mickey Mouse

    1. It sounds like you are on top of your game Pat! It’s not your fault a date was moved up! haha! a good defense if you ask me!

  5. I do not want to even think of how many UFOs I have. Borders don’t bother me, it is the quilting that does. I have probably a dozen and a half of quilt tops that need quilting. I love the designing, the piecing, and absolutely love applique, but not the quilting. Margie

    1. I love quilting….as we all know. But honestly Margie…I get it. I have several quilt tops that have sat in my own bin for years just because quilting stumps me….yes I know. Even me…who quilts 600 quilts a year. So I feel your pain.

  6. I have the same issues only I am much older so you know what that means. I did get 10 projects finished in November and December. My husband is afraid I am going to “junk” up another room in our house. I am thinking why should we have an empty room? I feel good about my progress. We are snowbirds so I have 3 months off so now I am knitting and tatting. I have too many hobbies, maybe? Let’s keep up the good work. Happy new year.

    1. why are our husbands always remarking about how we take up all of the room in the house? I mean they have a couch or recliner….a garage ( well in my husbands case not anymore) …i mean how much room do they need? Happy New year!

  7. This time last year my list was as long as yours. I decided I couldn’t start anything new AND I could not buy any more fabric until at least 10 were finished …. After about the 6th or 7th finished I was so motivated right now I only have 1 unfinished

That reminds me I have 2 more ready to and you

    1. YAHOO! That is discipline girlfriend! What a freeing thought…no looming UFO’s? I will have to examine that for a few more years before committing. LOL
