Storm at Sea

Lauri sent 3 quilts…and each of them are just beautiful. It’s just such a pleasure to work on her quilts. Each one that I opened up to see were exciting because I knew as I quilted them they would come to life and be just FABULOUS!

So this one was actually the last one I quilted…but I think this might be her favorite one I am showing this one first. I used 2 layers of batting to help accentuate the quilting design and provide extra warmth for the quilt.

I quilted an all over swirl in the body of the quilt except for the elements of “Surprise that are pieced within the quilt…I custom quilted those blocks & ribbon to help showcase them. I framed it in with leaves & ferns to represent seaweed. The whole quilt has a definite water theme…and I wanted to continue with that.

Here’s some close up of the surprises:

Thanks Lauri! It’s been a pleasure working with you! I hope you love your quilt!
