Smith Mountain Morning

This is a Bonnie Hunter pattern . It’s one I have always wanted to make..but I can’t ever decide which colors I want to use.

Brenda sent hers to me for quilting. It’s a wedding gift for her son. I am just in love with this quilt. When I make mine I will quilt it the same as I quilted this one….I really love it. IMG_1919

I used 2 layers of batting to show the quilting really well. It’s pretty heavy because it’s a huge quilt. She added several borders to make it king size.

I quilted charisma Curls in the purple border, leaves and ferns in the other borders…and in the center I used back & forth lines, continuous curves and stipples.

IMG_1921Thanks so much for trusting me Brenda! I really love your quilt. I am honored to be a small part of it.

Many blessings to all of you! I should be arriving home late tonight after having surgery! Hopefully I will have a great post to share with you tomorrow. 🙂

  1. Love the pictures and LOVE my quilt! As always, your quilting just makes a pretty quilt top into a true work of art! This is actually an anniversary quilt – My son and his second wife have been married 11 years next month, and I have been collecting the purple batiks since they moved into their home 10 years ago…….Master bedroom is purple so this will be a great fit in that room…….
