Well my little quilting group was started last January. We named ourselves the “Seam Rippers” …and not because we blow out our jeans….probably cause the seam ripper is our best friend as quilters! Who hasn’t had to use the seam ripper?

We decided to make a signature quilt….our blocks were due in July to exchange with eachother..they were to be on point, Christmas themed and 12.5 (un) finished with a signature. That way we had time to get it together and quilted by our Christmas party in December. Ummmm I didn’t exactly have mine done by the party. LOL SO I made it in time for Valentines day…does that count?

So the ones that had their quilts all finished…they were GREAT! I love seeing what everyone else comes up with…and all of our quilts are different. I made all of my  exchange blocks the same …except for mine which was the test block to make sure measurements were Ok…and I had to add some coping strips to mine…some other people made a different block for each person…so not everybody’s quilt will have the same blocks….most of them do. But each person had a different style of constructing their quilts and introduced way different colored fabrics ( than me)..I went pretty traditional.

I used gold metallic thread to quilt though.  I also used a black linen for the back. I often mix different types of fabrics in my quilts… but now that it is put to gether it is a great quilt to remind me of the special quilting group that I am a part of. g

Thanks for looking!
