Rainbow Garden

This quilt is called Rainbow Garden. It was a class I was part of for a year….and this is Pat’s quilt. She is really good at finishing her projects and staying on task…unlike ….some of us..or ummm actually me….just me.  I am more than halfway finished with my blocks…which is really good…for me.

The pattern is called Rainbow garden because the original used different colored backgrounds for the flowers. ( here is a link to buy the pattern & kit) We all bought our kits from the LQS for the the BOM class. They changed the colors. Many of us in the class were also part of an embroidery series during this time and we would try out some of our new embroidery stitches and bead work on our rainbow garden blocks. So each quilt looks completely different….when you see my quilt it will look drastically different from Pat’s. They are all beautiful….but we all added our own spin to each block with the thread work. I am also changing my setting….I chose my own setting fabrics. ( I really need to finish mine…don’t you think?) It’s wool applique. I am pretty much in love with wool projects…..it all started with Sue Spargo. What can I say. I love all of the fancy embroidery stitches and having a hand project.

Pat always does a nice job and she is really good at trying new things and embellishments. ( She is in the embroidery class as well)…

Here are some close ups of her blocks:

002 003 004 005I quilted a little bit of everything..leaves, feathers, bubbles, continuous curves and lots of fillers.

It turned out so lovely…..I love quilting her projects. 🙂

Thanks for letting me share Pat!

Always a pleasure working with you!

blessing to all of you today!
