041Polly is part of my Modern quilt guild. she usually quilts her own….but this is a MEGA king Size and she asked me to quilt it for her.

I was so happy to quilt it. I copied a design in one of the fabrics. I had never done the design before and it was fun to try something new.

042046 047I think this was a challenge for a certain line of fabrics? I am not sure.

I also wanted to add a bit of a more modern feeling by quilting a square on point …to create a focal point off center of the quilt.

043How awesome is that?

044 045I used two layers of batting. 1 layer of warm & toasty by Fairfield and also a layer of Fairfield wool.

039 040I have the same backing ( in reverse colors) that I am hoarding for something special. LOVE-LOVE-LOVE!

Thanks Polly! I love quilting this! I hope you love it!

Blessings to all of you today!

  1. Is Pyramids a Jaybird design? Owner of Jaybird quilts,Julie Herman, lives down here in Encinitas, Ca. And is a member of the San Diego Modern Quilt Guild..she is a young, hip 30 ish year old..Anyways..this looks reminiscent of her designs…
As did a great job on the quilting!

  2. Love this design and the quilting is spectacular. I, too have this backing which I’ve been saving for something special.

  3. Thanks again for doing such a great job with it! I finally got the binding done and now I just need a not-windy day so I can take some pics…or maybe I’ll take it to my in-laws this weekend and take pics there with the greenery.

  4. Eyecatching…..I love the colors, the design and, of course, your work quilting the finished product.
