Meatball Sub Casserole

Hi Friends,

I made this casserole twice this last week. This is a quick easy simple meal but loved by all in my family …which is kind of a hard sell…just saying.

1 loaf of french bread

8 oz cream cheese softened

1/2 cup of mayo

1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning mix

1 clove of garlic

1 bag of pre-made meatballs ( you can make them if you wish…but I just buy the pre-made ones because they are fast) I also thaw these out because they casserole wont cook right if they are still frozen.

1 16 oz jar tomato sauce

1 bag of mozzarella cheese

preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Grease your pan (s)

Layer the slices of  french bread in single layer across a big pan. I use a big roasting pan ( because my family is big) …a single 9×13 would be a bit to small for this recipe. So you could use 2 9x 13’s.

Then in a mixing bowl mix the cream cheese, spices, garlic and mayo until well blended. Then spread this mix over the top of the bread. Cover the bread thoroughly. The reason for this is to keep the bread from getting to soggy. After you cover the bread with the mix you then put the tomato sauce on the layer of cream cheese mix..then layer the meatballs on top of that cover with cheese.

Bake uncovered for about 30 mins. Check it to see if it’s hot & bubbly sometimes it needs a bit more time.

Let me know how you like it if you make it!
