I have been working. Like really working. LOL Like it’s past 1:00 pm and I have not showered …working. TMI?

I am going to shower right after this.

I am on a deadline to get new samples finished up for my MQX booth. I have resigned myself to the fact I wont get them all done…but at least I will have a few new ones.

While in Portland at the NW Quilt Expo…..one night we went to the Fabric Depot. WOW! That place is HUGE…tons of fabric. I try not to buy anything unless I know I can’t get it at my own LQS. But I was also running out of projects at the show. I know, I could have just fallen over. I have all this work sitting at home and I didn’t pack enough…what is wrong with me? SO I needed a project I could put on the frame while I was there.   I didn’t get around to it…cause I found another print that I had started working on at the end of the show. But I just envisioned this to be a perfect sampler type of quilt to showcase many designs. I was right.:)

The print is “Kona Modern quilts” by Cynthia Frenette. YOu can see more here. I just added a solid border. That is kind of out of the ordinary for me…..but I am loving the modern quilt movement. I don’t know how minimalist I can go? It’s just not in my nature….more is more ( as Dolly Pardon says) and I typically like that motto. But in this case I knew I could add tons of texture with quilting…so I felt comfy with a solid border.

In True Charisma Fashion…I just couldn’t help adding my name…..the year….I also added the words “Faith” & “Hope”. I also used some curves cross hatching…..love the effect.

I really love the finish..the back says it all for me. I am trying to decide on a binding….Strip ( that is my usual fav)….but some how the charcoal black color seems to make more sense? What do you all think?
