Kitten’s First Dance

This was actually a free quilt along on Jaqueline Steeve’s blog last year. It’s called Maggie’s First Dance.  she has a great blog with several free patterns and a FB group to join. It’s a friendly group.

My quilt looks quite different than the original.

I chose to use my stash. I have been wanting to use this line of fabric. I have had this for at least 10 years. I bought this line of cat fabric because I thought it was cute..and what you can’t see is that there are some metallic gold threads within the patterns. I liked that element and the cats were funny.

I liked this pattern because you could choose to embroider the flower designs or applique them. Of course I chose to embroider. Then I could showcase the cat fabric in the setting blocks & border.

I am sure I used 2 layers of batting again…it’s a small quilt. It can hang or be used a table topper.

You can see I finished it quite some time ago…I am just getting around to posting it.

I used scraps of the pieces I didn’t use for the back. I am glad to get that used up and in such a lovely quilt. 🙂

She is starting a new BOM this year as well. You should join.

I hope you all have a fantastic day!
