Flowers and a Sampler For Andrea

Andrea is a semi- local quilter. I started quilting for her this time last year? Yes. I believe so. Since then I have quilted several for her and her daughter…who I think are a pretty great team.

This first one was made for one of her daughter’s…they started it as a small project but then while working on it her daughter said she loved it so much she wanted it …but she wanted it in queen size…so I think it’s a Christmas gift…and they had to hunt down more fabric to finish it. 🙂 What we do for our children. 🙂

038I love the colors and vibrant patterns. But what I really love is the flower border.

040Look at all of those pieced flowers….it just frames it all in so well.

043 044Isn’t it lovely?

041 042 039I quilted all of the flowers differently to give them texture…and quilted all over flowers and leaves in the center.

This next one is a block swap. Andrea is part of a group of long Distance quilting friends. For their birthday month they get blocks made by everyone in the group in a specific color way. Her color choice was purple…and she put them all together in this beautiful sampler. It’s a wall hanging so I quilted it pretty heavily. Textures-textures-textures.

030It’s difficult to see in this angle.

032 033wowza!! pretty!

034 035 036Here’s the back:

037I love plain backs like that…you can see all of that thread.

Thanks Andrea! always a pleasure working with you!
