Things are just moving along around here. 🙂
It’s not moving along as fast as I would like…but it’s moving. Carla came over the weekend. Clarissa had a ballet recital. When Carla comes I try not to do to much work. She always wants to try some good recipes…so she can take them home and share with her family and our friends. I was considered one of the good cooks in our group. I forget that I may be a good cook unless I take a dish to church or anywhere but home…..everyone outside of my house likes my cooking. But my family complains. They want fast food & frozen pizza. The irony of it all!
So I made potato soup & french dips, meatball sub casserole, orange candy bread, rolo delights, and of course we had biscuits & gravy for both breakfasts. It’s kind of our thing.
Saturday morning Clarissa went shopping with my dear friend Donna to fill a stocking for a 10 year old foster girl….perfect age to take Clarissa along , right? Clarissa had fun…..and donna also bought her treats for helping. Which Clarissa shared with everyone. After that we had to get her ready for the recital.
She wanted me to get a picture of her “muffin.” She started ballet when she was around 2 or 3. Here are some photos of that season: When she was little we would have to fix her hair for the recitals in a bun ( like we do now) but she always called them a muffin. So it stuck and we have always called buns->muffins.
Here are some pictures from the Ballet recital. Clarissa was a flower. She danced right in the beginning and then she was done. Rob always buys her red roses. Red roses are her favorite….she doesn’t know that red means romantic…she just likes them. So that’s what he buys her.
So that was the middle of the day on Saturday. We watched movies both nights and relaxed. That was much needed & loved. Carla is so funny and sweet. All of my kids love when she is here. Such a treat.
I also got pictures of Bryce in his new uniform. Yes, He has a job. It’s very part-time…with only a few hours several days a week. This is actually the perfect job for him. He can’t handle more than a few hours a week because his grades & home responsibilities would suffer. He is also a sports fanatic….so being a referee for younger kids is so perfect for him.
That Whistle has been on my bad list since it arrived. He thinks he can just blow that dang thing any time he doesn’t want to hear anything. So I threatened him with that dumb thing! I better not see it in the house again..cause that joke makes my ears ring. Boys always have to take a joke that one bit to far.
Bryce has always been good with sports, calls and remembering plays. ( wish he could remember his homework as well??) In fact he was placed as quarter-back on his first football league because he was the only one who could remember the calls-plays. Here is a picture of that year:
House stuff..The shelves Rob put up in my office aren’t holding up…..we aren’t sure why? So we are going to go get reinforcements and hope that will do the trick. It won’t take me long to sort everything out after that. I did a bit over the weekend while Carla was working for me. 🙂 So I think I could get that done over the weekend. Then I can start decorating after Christmas. I also hung some of my Christmas quilts ….which made me feel good. I need to hang a few more. 🙂 I have several that need to be quilted…It wont happen this year…but I have spots already for next year. SO that’s what’s happening around here.
