Well I bought this binding machine that I didn’t need because I thought it was cool..I could make pmts on it..so I thought I got it for a good deal..right?well I bought it last summer..ask me how many times I have used it? ZERO.

So I offered to sell it to my quilting group …and Sally sent me a message saying…

You can buy a pink elephant for a nickel…but what are you going to do with a pink elephant? ( maybe she didn’t say pink….but I really like pink..so even if she didn’t, I will just say that..cause it seems so much more pretty and like  I could  maybe come up with a purpose for a pink elephant)

Yah!Yah! Yah! I know Sally…and I really knew she was going to say that to me as well..LOL

So anyhow…along with that binding machine came rolls of “binding” fabric. This is really NOT good fabric at all…it’s like wal-mart quality…( I know I said it..please don’t hate me…I am such a  fabric snob….but there is a deal here I promise)…all these rolls fashioned here are 2 inch strips..all wrapped nicely on rolls ……So here it is:

SCRAPPY TRADE TIME

I know some of you have been waiting for this…..

I cleaned out my studio and found a few things that I thought I could offer up..I feel bad that I am clean out of scraps.

So here’s the deal…I would like a quilt made from these strips of fabric..anything you want….but I also have these 9 patches that I made YEARS ago from wal-mart fabric ( before I became a snob) that I would like used with these strips to complete a quilt..there is 68 blocks all the same size..anything you want…any size you want.

I also have a package of I love Lucy fabric scraps..I got them from my Dear friend Marilyn..cause I love Lucy and I would like all of these made into a  quilt…it’s nice fabric should not be mixed with the bad fabric…So I will do two separate drawings for these…one drawing for the Lucy scraps..and one for the binding scraps… Here is the deal:

You piece these quilts for me…and I will long arm quilt for you…the quilting that I do for you will have to be in the regular custom category….I will quilt the same size quilt for you that you make for me…sound good? The other stipulation is that I don’t give you a time limit…so you can’t give me one…I am pretty flexible if you need it by a certain date…but Christmas is pretty booked by October…so please be respectful of that…

All you have to do is:

Leave a comment on this post and I will do a random drawing on Random.org on Monday at noon. OK?

Here are the blocks and the Lucy Fabrics:

I pretty much know after the above info many may not read the rest of this and that’s ok…but I still want to share…

My family decided we should go for a walk today..now I like to walk..but I like to go first thing in the morning..get it out of the way….have a energy and feel good. But my family likes to go after Dh gets home from work..or middle of the day..it’s like  3 ring circus when we go…we have two huge dogs..a yellow lab and an english Mastiff. I always resist..and I get the guilt trip.  How I don’t like to spend time with the family. UGH.

So I decided to go..just so I wouldn’t have to hear about how I don’t like going with them. well Rob had decided we would drive to the airport trails..so we wouldn’t have to walk as far..he was worried he was out of shape and couldn’t make it…LOL. I said “Well we have to take the old suburban…cause I don’t want the dogs in my new car”  So Rob had to air up tires..and jump start old subobo as we call her.

We go for said walk..it’s starts hailing and raining when we get about half a mile from car…nice. Then we get to Old Subobo and she won’t start.

UGH!

So Rob and all kids walk a mile home..to get new Subobo and jump start old subobo …while I sat in car with two HUGE panting dogs..slobbering all over the place….A man walked by and couldn’t even see in the windows because they were all fogged up..he was probably scared to look in thinking something different was happening..but I assure you..it was smelly and stinking with wet dogs and drool..yuck! with no power I could even roll down the window.

Nice.

I should have stayed home. Then I could have been the  hero to save the day with a simple phone call…”Come get us” LOL WIN-WIN no guilt. Silver lining= no guilt….and I got a minor work out.

But I did find a new LOVE last night. I am trying to get off the pop. It’s a slow transition..if I can make it..LOL. but I decided sparkling waters may help..still fake sugar..but hey..I have to work it out. This is so YUMMY!

I went and bought 9 of these today….after buying one last night and trying it….I have tried almost all the flavors now.. this is by far my FAV!
