Can we say LOVE!

heartimage

I am in love with a {New to me} series called “Downton Abbey”. My brother and his partner contacted me Thursday and told me about this series.  They said they watched the first season on Netflix..back to back..then bought the second series via insta on Amazon because they couldn’t wait…then they did the same with the third season…they loved them so much they watched them all in a couple of days…now they are watching them again. I thought…well if they like them that much I should try it out. We have netflix on our Tv’s ( via internet) so I downloaded the first season….Oh My word! If I didn’t have to go to church friday night… I probably would have watched the whole first season Friday. But I watched it all weekend…and I am ordered the complete set on DVD..well the first three seasons because that’s all that’s been available….( it’s in it’s third season). I am hoping it doesn’t take long for my set to arrive so I can watch the 2nd and third season. Anyhow…It’s part of  PBS’ Master piece theatre.  Downton Abbey

I can’t even say for sure why I love it? I mean it’s not sunshine and roses…it’s not heart warming. It’s english humor…very dry..which I get. I think it’s because the issues are the same issues we have today. Just presented in a different manner.  But It’s about a family struggling with the politics of class and money….Not only the family but the staff and servants really steal the show with all the drama as they are the under belly of the whole operation….and as much as they would like to control some aspect..they can’t. Whether they try to with morality or not. It’s really got me sucked in. Downton Abbey 2

Anyway…so lets compare notes? Anyone watch the show? What has you sucked in?

LOVE!

We got started watching it when my DH bought the DVD of the first season, and quickly got hooked in. But the I like almost anything that has Maggie Smith in it. We watched the first season over a couple of days, and finished it about 8 o’clock at night, at which point my DH ran out the the local Best Buy to pick up the second season, which we also went through in a couple of days. This was last fall sometime. It sure was a long wait for season 3. We have the dvd for that as well, and are up to the last episode on that one. I’m holding off watching it because I don’t want it to end. LOL!! Because then we’ll have to wait for season 4.

I know Cathy…I will be sorry to finish the seasons too! TO have to wait just a few days is bothering me! LOL. Isn’t it funny that these characters become real?

I kept hearing about how good it was so before this season started I went and bought the DVDs for season 1 and 2. Couldn’t stop watching. Now this season is ending. Can’t wait for season 4. My favorite character is Edith. I think she could be my BFF. She just keeps on getting the raw end of the deal. I just want to give her a hug.

      Florence,
I felt that way about Edith until the betrayal! But I did kind of feel bad when Mary got even…it isn’t as if Mary doesn’t get enough attention! Anyway….I am only at season 2….so I hear there is lots to come. I am pretty upset with Thomas and O’Brien. I am pretty in Love with Mr. Bates. <3
