Can I just say how much I LOVE T?

Second of all …she sent me this lovely wall hanging and I knew from the minute I saw it what I wanted to quilt…..about halfway through I figured  another way I could have quilted it…but I wasn’t going to rip out all that thread ( no way) and I will just have to try and talk her into making another one..LOL! She is going to pull her hair out dealing with me..LOL

Anyway this took me about 7 hours of quilting…but I was on a mission and couldn’t stop….It’s beautiful!

I love how a dense background fill makes motifs POP! Your pebbling may have been time consuming but oh what a result. YUMMY!!! Now spill on the technical details! This looks almost like you did trapunto, did you? Or is there a double layer of batting, what kind of batting? C’mon now, share the tools of the trade girlyfriend!! LOL

      Hi Jane,
I have decided that trapunto is a waste of time when you can use two layers of batting hehe. I used two layers..polydown on top and 80/20 on the bottom. ….Now that I have been experimenting {I should say}. I think as long as you are doing dense quilting around your highlighted areas two layers of batting is the best option. But It makes your quilt really heavy. If you don’t want a heavy quilt then trapunto will probably prevent that. But it is so much easier and less time consuming…. I think it is also less expensive because that vanish thread is wicked expensive. It also takes quite a bit of water to get it to completely vanish..so I have found it to be a hassle. I like pulling it off the frame and being done. So that’s my two cents for today. LOL
