Cubed and Chained Boxes

Elaine sent these two treasures.

The first one is a wall hanging with those fabulous cubed boxes…I think we all avoid cubes because of Y -seams but I think there are several different tricks to sew them without using Y seams anymore…..I have no idea as I haven’t done any for a while. the one that I made used y-seams.

I quilted lines and continuous curves just following the pattern lines.

041 042 043The border had lots of different bubbles …so that’s why I quilted bubbles in the border.

043 044 044The back. 🙂

045I am not sure what the name of this pattern is…but it’s HUGE! and it’s beautiful. The choice of fabrics and the design are just so perfect. I think it all came together so nicely.

046 047

It looks like an Irish chain variation….using bigger squares.

048 049 050I quilted all over flowers and did different border designs.

Thanks Elaine! It’s always a pleasure working with you!

Have a Merry Christmas!
