Well some of you may have seen this quilt already onthe Qb. There are seveal posts of her process here, here and here.

Here’s the deal. I was amazed…stunned really. I didn’t know how beautiful this quit would end up being…who could know that?

You know what really makes a GREAT long arm quilter? The one who knows a person…knows their heart and can finish what the piecer started. I think after you get the techniques down…you let your guard down because you know that whatever you quilt the person will love…you can have freedom to create. I gave Jane no rules on what she could quilt. No time limit. No restrictions. She could have slapped an all over design on this quilt and I would have been happy. Now that she has quilted this whole cloth style..& Stunned and amazed me…I think it would have been a mistake to put an all over on it..LOL

But there were specific design quilted in this quilt specifically for me….for specific reasons…and they made me cry when she revealed them.

The hearts were quilted in becuase I am such a romantic. I totally am..I can’t help it. My mind is always wondering and I always think in romantic ways. So there is one heart quilted in every corner. The center medalion is a cross. For God’s love. she didn’t want to be overly cross like but enough for me to know. ..the cross hatching symbolizes a fish net. Jane used to paint eggs…and the meaning of the cross hatch design was “fishers of men.”….I am a fisher of men…{that makes me tear up every time I think about it!}  I always try to do God’s work. The border made her think of stained glass windows..like what would be in a church type design…so that is what frames in my quilt.  Isn’t that the most beautiful sentiment? I am amazed&moved at her discernment and love for me! I recieved a blessing from God through Jane..that always feels good!

This will be hanging in our local quilt show..

Many blessings

C.

I can’t even put into words how great this quilt is…wow…wonderful job and for it to have so much meaning in the quilting is awesome and gives you a small understanding of how in awe of your work we are when we get our quilts back and you have put your special touch into our project for us! Love the job she did for your quilt….I know you will love and cherish it.
