Bev is a local quilter. I met her a few times at the LQS when I used to work in the shop. She bought her own Innova and we chat on FB. 🙂
Anyway she was posting pics of quilts she was working on and one of them was this one with the tiger stripes. Here’s the thing…The Ephrata Mascot is the Tiger. Apparently in small towns they take the high school mascots pretty seriously. I haven’t ever lived in a small town before coming here…and I had wondered why so many places had tiger themes…or the word Tiger in the business name. Yeah it’s cause when the high school has a mascot it becomes the whole town mascot. When you have 6 kids and 4 of them are very athletic boys…..TIGERS is everything. When they buy clothes…if they can get anything in obnoxious orange…they do. Tiger pride.
So all of that to say this caught my eye..I have been trained to recognize the tiger stripe. I suggested quilting the tiger stripes all over it…so she brought it to me. 🙂 YAY! I have done that design several times…2 words -> graduation quilts.
I was trying to get a few angels because of the lighting.
This second one is Chocolate goodness. WOW! SO beautiful. Bev said I could quilt it however I wanted…so I alternated the big chocolate blocks…every other feathered wreath and a motif I just made up by looking at the flowers on the border. I also quilted Charisma Curls in the border.
Thanks Bev! It’s great working with you! See ya in a few days!
