Brilliant Bouquet

Arlene sent this quilt. How amazing is this?

It’s all needle turn applique….yes all done by hand. My pictures don’t give her work justice. I was so captured by the brilliant colored pure and powerful against the light colored background.

053The snow and ice have been here for weeks….but the sun finally came out so I could get pictures.

The size of the center blocks are not typical giving it a more modern feel….but still very fresh and beautiful like fresh cut flowers.

I quilted charisma curls and just enough accent in the flowers to tack them down. Continuous curves in the small square border..and the outer border I filled in with leaves & vines to break up the designs & create more texture.

I am not sure what the real name of the pattern is….I am sure it would make a great BOM…and maybe a few of you already know teh name. I have never seen this pattern before..but it’s not one I will forget. 🙂

Thanks Arlene! It was a pleasure working with you!

  1. Spectacular! I look forward to your posts because every quilt is more beautiful than the last!
We’ve barely had any snow in Ohio. I am from upstate New York so am definitely used to it.

  2. What a lovely quilt……and what work went into making it. I can’t believe the hours it took to do this beautiful hand-sewing! And, the quilting that you do, Charisma, always makes things even more spectacular!

  3. Very unusual, and brilliantly colored, with exceptionally talented work. The quilting really enhances the workmanship and makes this one a show stopper.
