All Mine 1

Hi Friends,

Well I wanted to share 1 of my 7 quilts with you each day this week to give you the stats and close up pics. I don’t have a particular order…so I will just start with this one. What should we name it? Bubbles?  IMG_1733

I would like to say that I had this completely planned out knew what I was doing from the beginning….nope. I pinned it on the frame and just started playing. I knew I wanted something heavily quilted…and I thought I would use pebbles for filler.  I wanted to show pebbles with matching thread. My other sample with pebbles had high contrasting thread. I also wanted to add circles to the back ground because the rest of the design has squares…so I thought that would be good for one of the samples.

I improvised as I went along…just doing whatever came to mind. 🙂 It’s my favorite type of quilting.

Now I would like to share with all of you that my circles are imperfect. I am a fabric hoarder…but not a gadget queen. Seriously. All of these circles were made with these items:

I decided it’s is completely inappropriate for a longarmer like myself not to have appropriate tools…so I did eventually buy a few circle templates for tracing. 🙂  as a result another quilt got circles added to the design.

Trying to get decent photos….

That is my favorite circle. 🙂

I used two layers of batting. an 80/20 and a layer of hobbs polydown. so it’s hearty and it poofs in all of the right places.

I like all of my 7 quilts….but this one is my favorite. Not just because of the designs…but because it probably the one that was the most freeing while I was quilting….once I was all about enjoying the process. Those tend to be my favorite quilts. The ones where I struggle and work all the way through are not fun…but I tend to get a lot of satisfaction from them. I just love them all in a different way.

Lots of textures….lots of colors and the only textures are in my quilting….all of the fabrics are solids. 🙂 Do you see the big C in the block? Yep! That’s for Charisma.

Thanks Carol for sewing this together for me.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!
